Eduardo Sotomayor is an accomplished attorney and associate at MRHFM's Philadelphia office, where he is exclusively dedicated to representing individuals and families affected by mesothelioma.
With a strong background in asbestos litigation, Eduardo brings extensive experience and an unwavering commitment to holding corporations accountable for the devastating impact of toxic exposure. He manages every phase of complex litigation, from initial consultation through resolution, with precision and purpose. Fluent in Spanish, Eduardo is deeply committed to ensuring Spanish-speaking clients receive the same aggressive advocacy, clear communication, and compassionate guidance throughout the legal process.
Before joining MRHFM, Eduardo built a strong foundation in asbestos litigation and mass torts at a nationally recognized plaintiffs' firm. He represented clients nationwide across all phrases of litigation - from intake and discovery to trial preparation. He represented clients with varied exposure including power plants, oil refineries, shipyards, automotive garages, schools, and from the use of asbestos-talc product. Eduardo helped secure settlements ranging from hundreds of thousands to well over a million dollars for victims whose lives were upended by preventable corporate negligence.
Eduardo started his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Nassau County, New York, where he prosecuted more than thousands of cases involving child abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault. This trial experience now powers his work on behalf of the mesothelioma victims, as he takes on some of the largest corporations in America.
Eduardo earned his law degree from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in New York where he competed in multiple trial competitions across the nation. He served as a board member and was involved in multiple student organizations in house and nationwide. Mr. Sotomayor received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Kean University in New Jersey where he majored in Criminal Justice and graduated with honors.
Outside of the office, Eduardo spends his free time outdoors - experiencing new restaurants, following sports, and relaxing with his Fiancée, Heather and his family.
Eduardo is a member of the New Jersey State Bar, New York State Bar, American Bar Association, New Jersey Association for Justice, and Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey. He is admitted to practice law in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, State of New Jersey and New York.
In 2024, Mr. Sotomayor was named as a member of the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 under 40 for Civil Plaintiffs and in 2025, he was named to the Super Lawyer list of Rising Stars for New Jersey. He also received the Top 10 Under 40 Attorney Award for the State of New Jersey from the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys.
